Unnamed Sensations
This entry is part of 100 Days to Offload 2024.
This is a list of distinct feelings which aren't commonly talked about. All of these are similar to melancholy or nostalgia, but not quite the same.
Different "views" of places
For most places I have different "views", which means they feel and "read" different. You can easily get this feeling by looking at a place in a mirror. I can activate and deactivate views from different periods of my life, and they all have a distinct feeling. It's quite fun to see what my "child-view" didn't know or understand yet, and how further exploration made the view more detailed, but also more mundane.
Feelings from a different world
When remembering a dream, or just randomly out of nowhere I sometimes have a strong feeling of being in another world: the emotions, the situation, the people and the mindset feel like an afterglow of an alternate reality. This can happen with good and bad worlds, but for some reason I always feel like I want to go there.
Music captures memories
This happens when I'm listening to music again which I only had on in a certain period. I'm not talking about simple remembering or nostalgia, it's more like an actual reliving of the times when I listened to the music.
I'm sure these have names and other people have them too, but I wanted to write them down regardless. Let me know if any of these sound familiar!
